Peter L Murphy Chairman
Peter founded Cavendish & Gloucester Plc in 1972, initially with the purpose of establishing a portfolio of commercial and residential investment properties, many of which were tenanted. Refurbishments and property conversions were the mainstay of the business.
Building upon this experience, Cavendish & Gloucester Plc expanded into the commercial office park, industrial and residential property markets.
One of Peter’s proudest achievements is the redevelopment of Netley Castle in Southampton, originally built for Henry VIII, Cavendish & Gloucester Plc converted it into luxury highly specified apartments.

Matt Slane Commercial Director
Matt joined Cavendish & Gloucester Plc in 1975 as Accountant Property Manager. As the company’s portfolio grew so his involvement with commercial property management became increasingly ‘hands on’ including tenant liaison, letting, selling and other ad hoc assignments.

Julian Larkin Managing Director
Julian is a Chartered Town Planner with 22 years' experience in the residential sector. He started his career as a Planning Officer working in two local authorities in Hampshire and has worked across the entirety of Southern England for clients including several major housebuilders.
Julian gained further experience over 11 years working with clients including Bellway Homes, Persimmon Homes and Sunley Estates acquiring land and securing planning permission for residential development. Immediately prior to joining the Cavendish Group, Julian spent six years at Crest Nicholson as Development Director for the Southern Region. He has acquired sites across London and the South East ranging from the assembly of back gardens for 10 plots and former hospital sites for 700 plots.
He has built up an extensive network of contacts in the residential sector across Southern England and London including individual land owners, government bodies, local authorities and other housebuilders.
